2016 Award

We are presenting the DGS Distinguished Service Award to Alistair R. Brown. The Distinguished Service Award is the highest form of recognition given by the Society. It is awarded to those members who have made exemplary contributions to the Society and geophysical profession far beyond expectations.

Alistair Ross Brown expanded the range of 3D interpretation methods and educated geologists, geophysicists, and petroleum engineers in the value of 3D seismic imaging. For his work Mr. Brown has been awarded SEG Honorary Membership and an SEG Special Commendation.

2015 Awards

We are presenting the DGS Honorary Life Membership to George McMechan. The Honorary Life Membership is “recognition for particular meritorious service to the Society or to the profession of geophysics.”
